Fertility Friendly Recipe: 10 Minute Spicy Poached Eggs With Avocado and Salmon

Eating gloriously delicious, fertility-friendly food doesn’t have to take a lot of time! I’m just sharing my usual Saturday morning breakfast with you. :)

Recipe

  • 2 large organic eggs

  • 3 oz. leftover cooked or smoked salmon

  • 1 avocado

  • 1 gluten-free english muffin

  • Gluten-free sriracha sauce

  • Fresh cilantro

  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar

  • A few fresh leaves of cilantro

Wash and finely chop the fresh cilantro.

Split a gluten-free english muffin into halves. Place in a toaster.

Slice avocado and place on top of the english muffin. Then add leftover cooked salmon cold or smoked salmon.

Put a small skillet over medium with water and add white vinegar. Bring the water to a rolling boil. Crack two eggs into the water/vinegar mixture and cook till the whites become white and solid, but the yolk is still soft for about 1-2 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to drain.

Place the eggs on top of the english muffin with salmon and avocado. Drizzle sriracha sauce (if you like things with a little kick) and then sprinkle on the cilantro.

Fresh grapefruit is a nice complement to this meal, but any fresh fruit will do.

Remember, food matters for fertility. There are certain foods that can improve the health of a woman's eggs and a man's sperm and supply vital nutrients for hormonal function, production, and overall balance. A healthy diet is important for building up nutrient stores and supplying all of the building blocks required for good egg and sperm quality as well as good for the baby to grow.

What is nutritious about this recipe?

Avocado

Avocado is high in everything from folate to Vitamin K so it'll help you and your future kid stay healthy. It can be used as a spread, a salad element, or in a variety of different ways.

Citrus Fruits

Fruits such as oranges, lemons, and grapefruits are high in Vitamin C which helps to maintain ovulation and facilitate the release of an egg. They also contain folate, a naturally occurring type of folic acid that has been shown to help women become pregnant and newborns develop normally.

Eggs

Eggs are typically cited as one of the most effective foods for improving your fertility since they are high in protein, Vitamins B12 and E, and often fortified with excellent monounsaturated fats like DHA. When buying eggs, it is important to look for omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA or other omega-3 fatty acids. The yolk contains the majority of the fertility-boosting elements.

Salmon

Salmon is universally acknowledged as a fertility all-star since it is high in omega 3 fatty acids plus protein yet does not have the harmful levels of mercury seen in many other fish. When attempting to conceive, salmon is a good alternative to red meat because red meat high in saturated fats can make it difficult to conceive.

Buen provecho!
